Local Artist To Exhibit Select Collection

Local artist, Wana Klasen, will be exhibiting select pieces of art from her collection, "Earthsong" at the Proverbs Coffee House during the month of March. The gallery is located at Peace Lutheran Church, 71 Loma Drive in Camarillo, and will be open Fridays and Saturdays during the month of March from 1 to 4 p.m.. Admission to the exhibit, entitled "Embellished Reflections," featuring the work of four artists, is free, and all are invited to the Opening Reception on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The seniors of the Class of 2010 are again selling the popular "Sandwich-Meals" from The Central Station. You have a choice of Tri-Tip, BBQ Chicken or Pulled Pork sandwich including a side and a drink all for $10.00. It's so convenient to call ahead, 524-5286 and have your order ready to go or eat in. Each student is asked to sell at least 10 tickets (or more) to help Grad Nite Live meet their needed amount of $23,000.00. We will be selling these tickets until March 31, 2010.
Many people in Fillmore do not know that any veteran’s name can be
added to the wall at the Memorial Building. If you are interested
in having a deceased family member or friend added, get a permission
letter from the family, attach a check for $125 to cover the cost of
the name plate, and deliver both to Annette Cardona at the City
Hall. Since these name plates are cast in bronze, it takes several
months.
This is a fitting memorial for anyone who
has served in the military. Our WW2 veterans are passing away
quickly now and often we forget there is a place for their name to
be included on the Memorial wall.
Applications are now
being taken for Citizen of the Year.
Applications can be picked up at:

HELP US HONOR PERFORMING ARTS IN
FILLMORE AND PIRU
In conjunction with the Fillmore Historical
Museum we are attempting to begin a tribute to the Performing Arts
in Fillmore, Bardsdale, and Piru.
Remember that great Christmas Program you
participated in at school? Remember the Spring Operetta you were in
at Sespe School? How about the Senior Play you participated in
during your senior year? How about the Piru Dance Festival held each
year? We are seeking written remembrances, photos ( be sure and
identify the year, the place and the names of those pictured),
programs, scripts and posters.
We plan to organize an exhibit paying tribute to
all performing arts both in Fillmore, Bardsdale, and Piru. We hope
to honor those who actively encouraged the arts. Mr. Mozley, Bea
Albright, Don Ospenson, John and Myrt Brothers, Phil Catalano, the
Sespe Players, and the Fillmore Soroptomists are just some of the
people and organizations we hope to honor. Please provide additional
names and organizations if you can.
